CIVIL ACTIVISM
Meeting with artists, authors of social projects, represented in the QUEEROGRAPHY
exhibition:
What is social stand of an artist? Why is it so important for artists to express their social stand
right now? How can this be done? What results can be reached and what do artists themselves
think about potential and consequences of their art? We’ll have a possibility to discuss all these
with our guests and participants.
Full program of the event will soon be on this web site.
Follow updates and see you soon!

COMICS AS A WAY TO EXPRESS ONE'S SOCIAL STAND
Comics-workshop given by RESPECT project's artists
Comics are a wonderful world of plots and heroes diversity. But what do comics talk about? How are they created and what do they tell us? What comes up, when you speak about tolerance, xenophobia, respect and “disrespect” using comics’ language?
On our meeting you can :
- Find out what RESPECT project is and participate in discussion of comics
- Draw your own comics
- Meet new people and ideas
Come along and bring your friends!
RESPECT project are comics from different European countries for respect. Project was organized jointly by Moscow comics’ festival “ComMission”, Goethe Institute in Moscow and Center of modern art VINZAVOD with financial support of the European Union.
In this project we decided to try a completely new approach towards problems of tolerance, xenophobia and racism. Together with the Youth Human Rights Movement (and other social organizations) a new concept of respect to the right of each person to have their own distinctive culture is developed.
